When you have a surgery in the private hospital, your health insurance sets the fee payable to the surgeon. The surgeon can set the fee higher than what your health insurance pays. The difference in the fee (which is called the GAP) is payable by you (which is your out-of-pocket expense).
Surgeons at AO8 Orthopaedic do not believe in charging you any GAP whilst providing high standard of patient’s care in orthopaedic surgery. All surgeons are Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeons who are fellows of Royal Australasian College of Surgeon (RACS) and Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA).
